Abstract The Encyclopedia of the Antarctic contains 495 individual, alphabetically arranged entries of 500 to 6000 words each. Each entry is cited separately in the Antarctic Bibliography. The ecology of the beaked whale of the Family Ziphiidae in the Southern Ocean is described. (mte)
