Abstract Presents updated account of present birds and breeding numbers from areas around Swedish research stations Wasa and Svea, 150 km and 300 km inland in Vestfjella and Heimefrontfjella. Estimates based on field records and extrapolations from nest counts show snow petrel as most numerous species with 2,300-4,050 breeding pairs at Scharffenbergbotten in Heimefrontfjella. Reports first nest site of Wilson's storm petrel in Vestfjella and first records of Antarctic petrels in Heimefrontfjella. South polar skua was also present.
